Weddings, black tie and other formal occasions each come with their own expectations. Christian works with every client personally at the Post Street showroom in San Francisco to create a custom wedding suit, tuxedo or evening look that suits the setting, the season and the person wearing it.

Cloth, proportion and the details are worked out with the occasion in mind, but the goal is never formality for its own sake. It’s to get the balance right without losing the personality of the person wearing it.

MADE FOR THE DAY

A wedding suit or tuxedo has to work beyond the photograph. It needs to feel right through the ceremony, dinner and everything that follows.

Christian helps clients navigate the decisions that matter, from the formality of the event and the season to cloth, color, silhouette and the smaller details that make the garment personal. Whether the direction is traditional black tie, a classic wedding suit or something less expected, the starting point is always the individual.

BLACK TIE & BEYOND

Weddings are only part of Scarborough’s formal work and formal doesn’t always mean a tuxedo. Christian also creates dinner jackets, evening wear and more individual looks for black tie events and other settings that call for something more considered.

The degree of formality can change. The approach doesn’t. Cloth, proportion and the details are chosen around the person who will actually be wearing them.

WHEN SHOULD I ORDER A CUSTOM WEDDING SUIT OR TUXEDO?

At least 10 weeks for semi-bespoke, and 12 weeks for bespoke. A semi-bespoke suit takes about six to eight weeks to make, and bespoke adds a muslin fitting before the cloth is cut, so starting early leaves time for fittings and any final adjustments.
