At Scarborough, it starts with a conversation. Christian Gardner meets with every client himself at the Post Street showroom in San Francisco, talking through how they dress, what's missing from their wardrobe, and how they actually want to feel when they put something on.
Cloth, proportion, fit, and the small finishing details all get worked through with the client, with one simple goal, and that is to design clothes that feel right for the person wearing them.

Each commission begins with an appointment to discuss what you’re looking for, how the garment will be worn, and the choices that will shape it. Christian then guides you through the cloth, style and details, takes your measurements, and submits the specifications for production. Once it arrives at the showroom, you’ll return for a fitting so the final fit can be evaluated and any necessary adjustments arranged.

Pricing varies depending on the garment, cloth and details selected. Custom suits begin at $2,200, jackets at $1,800, trousers at $700, and shirts at $325, with a four-shirt minimum. Christian will guide you through the available options during your appointment.

Because each garment is made specifically for the client, payment is made in full when the order is placed.

A custom suit typically takes 6 to 8 weeks from the initial appointment to completion. Timing for other garments may vary depending on the piece, cloth and details selected. When our schedule allows, we offer a rush service that delivers in three weeks, subject to availability and for an additional charge. If you're dressing for a wedding, event or other specific date, let Christian know when you book your appointment so timing can be discussed in advance.

Scarborough is an appointment-only showroom, with appointments reserved for clients who are ready to begin a custom tailoring commission. If you have questions beforehand or want to see whether Scarborough is the right fit for what you need, Christian is always happy to connect by phone or email.

Scarborough does not offer standalone alterations or tailoring services. Our focus is custom clothing made to your measurements. If a Scarborough garment needs adjustment after your fitting, Christian will arrange for the necessary alterations as part of completing the commission.
